Woodstock Pilgrims 2014
Ventnor President, Tony Hornby, has just presented the Trophy to Pilgrims for the third year running.
Friday June 6th 2014
There are two things that seem to happen every year when the Pilgrims come to play at Ventnor: The weather is fine & sunny and they always win the game! This year was true to form.
Two years ago, Ventnor thought things were looking up when we only lost by a margin 13 shots. Last year that margin increased again to 26 shots and this year, increased yet again to 35 shots, Pilgrims winning by 129-94 taking five of the six rinks. Ventnor's winning rink was Ted West, Roy Dicker, Tony Morgan and Barry Simpson. As always, a good time was had by all the players and it was nice to see so many lady supporters from Oxfordshire around the green basking in the Ventnor sunshine. This is the third year that the two sides have played for the "Pilgrims Trophy" and the third year that it has NOT been Ventnor's name on it!
We look forward to seeing everyone from Woodstock Pilgrims neaxt year.
